Mini Tea Jar/Fully Handmade Ru Ware CELADON/Traveling Tea Jar

This elegant and delicate tea jar is small but versatile:

 

• called 醒茶罐 in Chinese - a jar for awaking the leaves.
• for storing 1-2 infusions' leaves.
• great for smelling the dry leaves before placing them in the tea holder.
• ideal for outdoor tea sessions or traveling. 

An ethereal shade of blue, it is also called Celadon Green in the western. Named after its origin – the official kiln in Ruzhou, Henan Province, the Ru porcelain ware is recognized as the best of its time as well as in the entire history of Chinese ceramics.

 

Except for the colors, the cracks on the glaze layer are the other signature. This property comes from, among other things, ground agate as an ingredient of the glaze, which gives Ru wares exceptional crazing patterns on the surface and a myriad of tiny bubbles in the glaze, creating varying effects of reflection under the light of different intensities and at different angles.
