What is Jian Zhan?
Jian Zhan (建盏) refers to a kind of Chinese pottery that was originally made in Jianyang, China. It is known as Tenmoku(天目) in Japan, lit the eye of the sky. Strictly following the traditional ancient craftsmanship, after 13 major processes, and 42 refining processes, the glazed crystal pattern formed by natural kiln deformation under as high as 1300C, in total over 80 hours of precision handcrafting, it is truly a work of art that merge earth and fire.
