Unlike the newly made high aroma Songzhong, after two years tranformation, this Songzhong developed a more mellow and deep mouthfeel, with gental woodsy and incense aroma, the flavors drift into dark stone fruits and a plum-like sweetness, sip and feel it slowly, the 山韵(moutain rythem and charm) is vital and vibrant. Our Songzhong was plucked from 50 years old tea bushes that retain the same genetic material as the ancient mother tree, being growing on the signiture peak of Phoenix Mountain - Wudong Shan, the top place for premium Dancong.

Songzhong Phoenix Wulong was named by a kind of descendant tree that was planted since Song dynasty(ca. 900 years ago), it considered as one of most ancient arbor. The word "Dan Cong" means single bush. Each tree grown from the seed carries unique and identical trait. What often sold on the market that called Dancong are actually blended from different trees, to reach a blanced intensity of bitterness, flavor, taste.
The Phoenix Mountain consists of a number of peaks. The most famous peak for premium quality Phoenix Oolong is called Wudong (1000-1500m ), where the old tea trees with the age up to several hundred years old planted earlier around this particular peak and most of them are grown at the altitude in between above sea level.
